"Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith:
Grace, mercy and peace . . ."
1 Timothy 1:2
Are you overwhelmed today with the things in your life? Do you feel that you do not have enough strength to make it through the day. I have good news for you today! God has an extra measure of grace, mercy and peace for you.
Just as they did in days of Paul when the Greek's would greet with a salutation of "grace". God greets you today with this same greeting. HE says "Grace!" In the Greek it is charis, which means favor!
The common greeting among the Jews is "shalom". The Hebrew word for shalom is eirene, which is used for the word "peace". God greets you today with this same greeting. He says "Peace!" to you today.
Inserted between grace and peace is "mercy". So as they, Timothy and Titus, went about ministering between the Greek and the Jew, Paul privately in his letters to them wrote "mercy". As Timothy and Titus were being overwhelmed with the affairs of life, their brother in Christ Paul spoke "mercy" into them. Today, God greets you with this same greeting and HE says, "Mercy!"
They just needed to be reminded that God's mercy was extended to help them bravely face and overcome the challenges that they faced for the day(s).
You may need to be reminded of the same thing today. If your facing a situation that would normally be devastating or overwhelming to you grab hold of the good news: God has triplets for you! HE has grace, mercy and peace! God has given you a special gift. Don't try to face the ordeal in your own strength; carry your triplets.
Lord I thank you for making me special and that you have given me triplets to help in the times of struggle and hardship. I admit that I often try to handle all my challenges on my own, but I know it is impossible for me to overcome my obstacles without the help of YOUR triplets; grace, mercy and peace. I thank YOU in advance for pouring and birthing this into my spirit and by faith I receive it right now. I pray in Jesus' Name. Amen.
