This week at The Worship Studio we did a group project of water lilies with acrylics. We were to do it in about 30 minutes. I am unfortunately not able to relinquish control of the brush that quick.....more signs that I still have control issues. LOL
It was a fun quick project and I am enjoying just being free to try anything that I can try. It was a fun enough and easy enough quick project that I thought about doing another one, but wanted it to be more of an inspirational piece that brought forth a message. So later that night as I laid in bed, the song and scripture came to me, "as the deer pants for water so does my soul pant for you."
So this morning, I went to "work" at putting this together another water lily with softer tones. The painting came together real quickly. The printing of the scripture is what took so long. It did give me time to reflect on the song and verse.
The song is not sung much in the church anymore. Much of our worship has been contemporized and we have put aside some enriching spiritual songs. Not that the contemporary ones are not spiritual, but there is a traditional foundation stone that I remember with these songs from my teen years.
As for today, I reflected on my hunger for the Lord. As I share my reflecting questions with you; ask yourself the same question. Is my hunger and desire for Him where it should be? If not, what is keeping me from fulfilling the desire that my soul longs for. Is it unforgiveness that is keeping you? Is it the distractions of this world? You to busy?
Is that desire for THE living God? or is it for some false idol? There are many false idols and so many religions that are claiming to serve the god. I heard someone say recently that if you are thinking of anything more than Jesus that it is an idol.
I pray that you will not just read this blog and if you have found yourself convicted that you just don't take this as just more "information" that has come across your path. I pray that you will respond to the simple tugging to draw closer to Him as we all must do.
For as we draw closer to Him. He gives us new hope for the day.
